Three fundamental drivers set Iron Capital Advisors apart from the competition:

1. Completing the Investment Process
Providing your participants with the independent, unbiased education and advice that they need.

The defined contribution plan, whether it is a 401(k), Profit Sharing, 403(b) or 457 plan, is all about the participant. In most cases the participant makes the final investment decision. (Yet, most advisors ignore the participant.) At Iron Capital Advisors the participant is at the heart of everything we do. We are co-fiduciaries of the plan and as such it is our responsibility to assure that the participant is educated and prepared to make these crucial decisions and/or assist them if they choose to seek professional advice. We can even manage their account for them through our alliance with Balentine & Company, the investment counseling firm of Wilmington Trust.

2. Ending the vendor search cycle
Building winning relationships between sponsors and providers.

Both brokers and consultants are highly motivated to get plan sponsors to move their plan. Brokers often get first-year commissions four times as large as ongoing commissions, and consultants charge six figure fees to shop a plan. Their response to any problem with the plan is to move it. Moving a defined contribution plan from vendor to vendor is incredibly painful, and typically the underlying problem is never fixed, so a few unhappy years later the client comes back to the broker or consultant and the solution is, once again, to move the plan. The only winners in this game are the brokers and consultants. Iron Capital Advisors will help a plan sponsor move their plan if need be, but we will not accept an extra fee for doing so and will always encourage the sponsor to seek a long term relationship with a top tier provider.

3. Real World Experience
Consultants who understand because they have been there.

Few consultants actually have high level experience within a major defined contribution vendor, fewer still have met with truck drivers on a Sunday afternoon at a dispatch office to help them understand their 401(k) plan. Iron Capital Advisors has both and that is what sets us apart. Experience means Iron Capital Advisors truly understands how the vendor works, which in turn allows us to negotiate better arrangements for our sponsor clients and helps us accomplish our goal of building a winning relationship. Experience also allows us to relate to participants and communicate to them affectively. In short, experience sets us apart from all the rest.
